Rest is part of the plan: building better recovery habits

Recovery is not just for athletes. Good rest helps you show up for work, family and the activities you love. Here is where to start.

We often think of wellness as doing more: more exercise, more steps, more effort. But rest and recovery matter just as much. They give your body and mind the chance to recharge, so you can keep going with the things that matter to you.

Protect your sleep

  • Go to bed and wake up at roughly the same time each day, including weekends.
  • Wind down for 30 minutes before bed — dim the lights and put screens away.
  • Keep your bedroom cool, dark and quiet.
  • Go easy on caffeine later in the day.

Balance effort with rest

If you train or play sport, plan lighter days between harder sessions. If your work is physically demanding, short breaks and gentle stretching can help you feel better at the end of the day.

Make time to unwind

Relaxation looks different for everyone — a walk, time with family, a quiet hour with a book, or a dedicated recovery session. At the clinic, our recovery and relaxation services include our ozone sauna experience, massage and lymphatic drainage, offered as a calm space to relax and unwind.

Listen to your body

Persistent tiredness, poor sleep or aches that do not ease are worth taking seriously. Speak to a health professional if something does not feel right — and remember that wellness services are not a substitute for medical care.
